The practice of the Central Family Court changed in 2016 in respect of the age of children required to attend to meet with Cafcass at FHDRA hearings in the Central Family Court. In the past children who were 9 or over were required to attend FHDRA hearings. The age limit has been reduced so that it is a requirement that children who are 8 or over are to attend FHDRA hearings.
There is no Practice Direction to this effect. The new requirement is set out in the FHDRA Notice of Hearing.
