New Family Silks announced

Results of 2017 competition announced

  • Six new practising family law silks have been appointed in the 2017 competition. The new silks are:

    • Nicholas Allen, 29BR
    • Michael Glaser,14 
    • Samantha King, 4PB
    • Vanessa Meachin, 3PB
    • Gemma Taylor, 42 Bedford Row
    • Owen Thomas, 9 Park Place
    • Nicholas Yates, 1 Hare Court

    In addition, Professor Nigel Lowe has been appointed an Honorary Queen's Counsel for his work on international family law and a number of books, including some of "rare authority and timeless value" in the view of the appointments panel.

    This year a total 119 silks have been appointed, 32 of them female and the youngest successful applicant being only 34.

    The Silk Ceremony will be held on Monday 26 February 2018.
