Fully digital online divorce now being tested

130 people have used it so far

  • HMCTS has announced that a fully automated online divorce process is now available for test by the public.

A pilot scheme, where forms were completed online and then sent in by post, was tested last year but the agency now says that the new system handles "submitting the form, sending the relevant documents, and payment". They have already received over 130 applications in the first week.

The next stage is to make it available to legal representatives.
